Signing in to Laurea services
As a rule, Laurea services are accessed using a Laurea user account in the form username@laurea.fi. An email address ending in @student.laurea.fi cannot be used to sign in!
Signing in to Laurea services from your home computer
Some services are also available from outside the network. You can then use the service on, for example, your home computer or a mobile device, if the application supports mobile devices.
If necessary, sign in from outside Laurea with your Laurea user account and password.
Students’ user account is given in the form username@laurea.fi
For example 0395677@laurea.fi
Note: despite the @ sign, this is not an email address.
Always sign out of the application and close the browser when you are not using your personal device.
HAKA login
Haka is a joint authentication system for Finnish higher education institutions. Haka allows you to use your Laurea credentials to sign in to other universities’ applications for which Laurea has been granted access. You may need Haka login, for example, when signing in to
1) HAKA – the login starts by selecting the HAKA option
2) Select the organisation, e.g. Laurea University of Applied Sciences
3) Sign in with your Laurea credentials and password if required.

Registering another university’s credentials for Canvas
If your university is one of these:
Arcada, HAMK, KAMK, Karelia, LAB, OAMK, Savonia, SeAMK, TAMK, XAMK
- Open the Canvas front page (https://canvas.laurea.fi)
- Choose “Register your Haka account first” under the HAKA login option
- NOTE! When asked, you must provide your personal identity code (HETU), as it verifies the link between the account being registered and the person recorded in Laurea’s system.
Other universities or HAKA login/registration do not work:
Sign in to Canvas (https://canvas.laurea.fi) with the user account you activated under Laurea login
Microsoft cloud services used by Laurea, such as OneDrive and Teams, requires multifactor authentication.
Canvas login
You can sign in to Laurea’s Canvas learning environment with a Laurea user account or a HAKA account. A guest account is used, for example, when you have bought a single course from the online store and do not have Laurea credentials. As a Laurea student, you must activate your Laurea credentials before signing in to Canvas.
