Applying
There are many paths to a degree. Choose the application route that suits you best.
Joint application periods
Laurea is part of Finland’s joint application system for higher education. You can apply to English-taught programmes in the joint application in January. With good study results, you may continue directly to Master’s studies after your Bachelor’s degree without a new joint application. Below you can find more information and instructions about the joint application.

Apply to Laurea by studying path studies at Laurea Open Universioty of Applied Sciences
In Open UAS path studies, you complete studies that are part of a degree programme, mainly first-year courses. Teaching is usually organised in the same groups as degree students, and studying requires full-time participation. Path studies are always at least 60 ECTS credits.
After completing path studies, you can apply to become a degree student through a separate application process.
Do you want to complete your unfinished degree?
It’s never too late to graduate. Through the L160 separate application, you can continue your unfinished Bachelor’s degree studies at Laurea, even if you have not studied with us before.
The application is open continuously, so you can start your studies when it suits your life situation. Your studies are planned flexibly to fit your needs.
Separate admissions
Laurea’s separate admissions offer an alternative route to degree studies alongside the joint application. Separate admissions are organised throughout the year for different degree programmes.
Separate admissions are typically intended for applicants who already have previous studies from an Open UAS, another higher education institution or certain upper secondary institutions, or work experience in a specific field. Admission requirements vary between different separate admissions.
You can apply through separate admissions even if you also plan to apply through the joint application. This can improve your chances of securing a study place.

International separate applications
Laurea University of Applied Sciences is organizing international separate applications for Bachelor’s degree programs. Applications are submitted through the Studyinfo system, and the entrance examinations are conducted abroad.

Ways to study
Find the way of studying that fits your life.
Daytime studies
In daytime studies, you study mainly on campus on weekdays. Teaching usually takes place 2–5 days a week between 8 AM and 5 PM.
In addition to on-campus teaching, the studies include independent online learning and group work. As the studies progress, the amount of online learning usually increases.
Blended learning studies
Blended learning studies are especially suitable if you want to combine studies with work or other life situations. The studies flexibly combine online learning, independent study and on-campus teaching.
Although blended learning focuses mainly on online and remote studies, it also includes scheduled online meetings and some on-campus teaching with mandatory attendance. Studying is full-time and requires good time management skills.
Online studies
In online studies, you complete your studies mainly online. The studies include independent learning, group work and scheduled online meetings.
Some teaching takes place at specific times, while part of the studies can be completed independently according to your own schedule. Online studies require self-direction and good time management skills.
