Processing of personal data at Laurea

Personal data means all information that can be directly or indirectly linked to an individual by various identifiers, such as name, personal identity code, location data or some identifying factor.

Laurea respects individuals’ rights to their own information and always protects it against unauthorized processing. Laurea’s processing of personal data is described in the privacy statements for Laurea’s main categories of personal data. In addition, Laurea carries out many research projects that involve the processing of personal data. The processing of personal data in the projects is described separately for each project.

Cookies

We use Google’s remarketing cookies. This allows us to display targeted banner advertisements to website visitors when they browse other sites. In advertising targeted with cookies, visitors are not identified, and the information is not combined with personal data that may have been obtained from the visitor in another context.

Remarketing cookies allow us to manage settings so that a visitor does not see too many of our ads. Cookies may occasionally be placed on the visitor’s computer (“cookies”).

Cookies can collect information such as from which page you came to the site, which of our web pages you have viewed and when, which browser you use, your screen resolution and operating system, and what your computer’s IP address is — that is, from which Internet address the data you send originate and where they are received.

Cookie data can be used by Laurea University of Applied Sciences and its partners to monitor visitor numbers and to analyse and develop the service to better serve visitors. In addition, Laurea’s partners may use cookies to target advertising, gathering information about a visitor’s visits to this and other sites.

Visitors can prevent the use of cookies by changing their browser settings so that the browser does not allow cookies to be stored. The visitor accepts that for some services blocking the use of cookies may, however, affect the functionality of the service.
