Laurea’s publications showcase our university’s expertise and concrete solutions to the needs of working life. The publications present results from research and development activities, expert work, projects and student projects. Laurea’s own publication channels are openly licensed, so Laurea’s publications are freely available to anyone.

Laurea Journal
Laurea Journal is an online magazine whose articles cover Laurea’s expert and project work, student collaboration and international activities in a versatile way. The magazine contains articles in both Finnish and English. Laurea Journal is published on a continuous publishing basis, so you’ll regularly find new reading in the magazine.

Laurea Publications series
The aim of the Laurea Publications series is to make Laurea’s expertise visible and to participate in professional discussion in Laurea’s fields of competence. The series publishes, among other things, results of research and development work, reports, guides and workbooks. Publications can be monographs or collections of articles.

Laurea Long
Laurea Long is a non-peer-reviewed publication channel intended for professional, longer articles. Long publishes articles related to work carried out at Laurea and to the expertise that Laurea staff use in their work. The publication languages of Long are Finnish and English.

Staff articles as parallel savings
Laurea deposits articles written by staff into the Theseus publication archive within the rights granted by the publisher.

Podcasts and videos
Laurea produces podcasts and videos that explain current phenomena, working life needs and our university’s expertise in an easily approachable way.

Open learning materials
Laurea recommends its staff to utilize, adopt and share open learning materials as part of the planning, development and implementation of teaching. Learning material can be an audiovisual or text-based publication (article, book). All published learning materials are added to Laurea’s collection in the Library of Open Educational Resources of the Ministry of Education and Culture (OKM) and the Finnish National Agency for Education (OPH).
