MOOC course offerings
You can view MOOC course offerings from Laurea’s course search Laurea Study Search by selecting Self-paced studies (MOOCs) or in Laurea Smart (for open universities of applied sciences students) Free online courses. Please view the course description before enrolling.
Enrollment to MOOCs
Laurea degree students enroll to courses in Pakki. Students from other higher education institutions enroll according to separate instructions. (See cross-enrolment instructions) If you are not pursuing a degree at any Finnish higher education institution, enroll as an open university of applied sciences student in Laurea Smart. You can start most MOOCs immediately.
Logging in to the learning platform
Activating your user account
To start the course, your Laurea user account must be activated. See the instructions for activating your user account.
Logging in to the Canvas learning platform
Most MOOCs are studied on the Canvas learning platform, which is available at https://canvas.laurea.fi.
- Select “Log in with Laurea account”.
- Enter your Laurea username (username@laurea.fi) and enter your password.
- You will see the course on your Canvas dashboard (once the course is open)
Logging in to the DigiCampus learning platform
Some MOOCs are studied in the DigiCampus learning environment, which is available at https://digicampus.fi/. You will receive a course key and a link to the workspace by email after enrolling.
- Click the workspace link you received by email.
- Select the login method “Log in with Haka credentials” and choose Laurea University of Applied Sciences as your institution.
- Enter your Laurea username (username@laurea.fi) and enter your password.
- Enter the course key and press the “Add me to the course area” button.
- You will see your courses on the DigiCampus dashboard.
Credits
When the course is completed, the the credits are recorded in Laurea’s study register. For cross-institutional students the credits are also visible in their home institutions study register.
You can download your transcript of records or study certificate from Pakki – Student’s workspace front page top bar under Orders. You can also share and view your study information in My StudyInfo.
For courses on the Canvas learning platform, you will receive the credits automatically the next morning after all tasks of the course have been completed. You can check in the Modules view that each module has a green completed mark.
For courses on the DigiCampus learning environment, the credits are recorded manually approximately within one week of completing the course.
