Ordering instructions in Pakki
If you have a valid study entitlement at Laurea, you can download an official electronic certificate of study or a transcript of records easily from Pakki under the “Orders” (leaf) icon.
Instructions for ordering an electronic certificate of study and a transcript of records in Pakki
- Go to Pakki front page
- In the top navigation click “Orders” (leaf icon)
- Select whether you want to order a certificate of study or a transcript of records and click your chosen option (Note! If you want partial completions to appear on the transcript of records, choose the document type “transcript of records with study unit parts”)
- Choose whether you want the document in Finnish or in English
- Click “order”
- Click “Documents” on the blue bar above (next to the “New order” option)
- Your ordered document will be available on this tab

Ordering certificates and other documents after graduation or the end of study entitlement
If you are no longer studying at Laurea, you can use the OmaOpintopolku service to view and share your study records. Certificates and other documents issued after graduation or the end of study entitlement are subject to a fee: study services price list. For more information, you can ask study services.
Verification of electronic documents
Laurea’s degree certificates have been electronic since February 2022. You can verify the authenticity of an electronically signed document (degree and other certificates) using the Atomi Validator service below.
Study-related documents
During their studies, a student can obtain certificates of study and transcripts of records. At Laurea, the right to sign certificates issued to students rests only with the President and the Vice President. In addition, a coordinator working in study services may sign certain certificates such as certificates of study, transcripts of records and certificates of resignation. A student can download an electronically signed transcript of records and certificate of study from Pakki. Teachers cannot issue certificates in the name of Laurea.
Certificate of study
A certificate of study shows that you study at Laurea University of Applied Sciences. You can order an official electronic certificate of study from Pakki. See instructions for ordering an electronic certificate of study. If you need a paper certificate of study, you can contact study services.
The certificate of study shows the student’s name, student number, date of birth, municipality of residence, place of study, the degree to be completed and the degree title, education/degree programme, type of education, whether studies are full-time, the estimated duration of studies, presence in the current semester and attendance history.
It is possible to add, for example, information requested by an authority to the certificate of study. You can verify the authenticity of the electronic certificate in the Atomi Validator service. A paper certificate of study is confirmed with Laurea’s stamp.
Transcript of Records
You can order an official electronic transcript of records from Pakki. The electronic transcript of records can show partial completions if you select transcript of records with study unit parts option in Pakki. See instructions for ordering an electronic transcript of records. If you need a paper transcript of records, you can contact study services.
The transcript of records shows the student’s name, student number, education, specialization option, estimated duration of studies, information on continuity of studies, scope of the degree, the scope of studies completed so far, the scope of studies to be completed in credits, the grade received, the date of completion, the person who awarded the grade and the grading scale.
The transcript of records also shows exemptions from studies, recognised credits and their place and date of completion.
On request, the transcript of records can also show a weighted average calculated according to the scope of the studies. You can verify the authenticity of the electronic transcript of records in the Atomi Validator service. A paper transcript of records is confirmed with Laurea’s stamp.
Electronic degree certificate
When you graduate from Laurea, you will receive:
- a degree certificate and, as its attachment
- a study attainment showing all your studies and grades
The degree certificate includes:
- the degree you have completed and its scope
- the weighted average of your studies
- the degree title
- the name of the education programme
- the main contents of the degree
Who signs the certificate?
- The certificate is signed electronically by the President or the Vice President.
Language versions
- If you studied in an English-language programme, you will also receive a Finnish-language degree certificate.
- If you studied in a Finnish-language programme, you will receive an English translation of the degree certificate.
Diploma Supplement
The degree certificate also contains a Diploma Supplement.
It is an attachment intended for international use, which explains:
- information about Laurea
- the degree and studies you completed
- study attainments (Transcript of Records)
- the level and status of the degree in the Finnish education system
Electronic degree certificate
- You will receive the degree certificate only electronically.
- The electronic certificate is Laurea’s official degree certificate.
- Laurea does not send a paper certificate.
- You may print an unofficial copy yourself if you wish.
- The certificate is also stored in Laurea’s electronic archive.
- If the certificate is lost, you can order a new electronic certificate for a fee.
Use of the certificate
- You can send the electronic certificate, for example, to:
- an employer
- a public authority
as an email attachment.
Obtaining the certificate
- You have 30 days to obtain the certificate after graduation.
- The certificate is obtained from Pakki using your own credentials.
- The certificate will appear when:
- the President has signed it
- study services have sent it to you
- You will receive a separate email about this.
If your credentials have already been closed
- Study services will send the certificate to your personal email as an encrypted message.
Note on using Pakki after graduation
- When you are registered as graduated:
- The Pakki view becomes limited
- you only have access to the “Orders” section
- other menus are not available
Instructions for obtaing the degree certificate in Pakki

After this you can download the degree certificate either by clicking the link “Degree certificate” or by pressing “Download”.

Note: if Pakki reports a system error, you can still download your degree certificate via the leaf icon. If necessary, study services can deliver the degree certificate to you as an encrypted email.
The authenticity of the electronic degree certificate can be verified in the Atomi Validator service or in the Digital and Population Data Services Agency’s service at https://dvv.fineid.fi/validation. These services also read the information in the degree certificate.
Open UAS certificates
Information about certificates for Open University of Applied Sciences courses can be found in the “After studies” section of the Open UAS student instructions.
Certificate of resignation
A student leaving the University of Applied Sciences is given a certificate of resignation and a transcript of records. The certificate of resignation shows the student’s name, student number, date of birth, municipality of residence, place of study, education/degree programme, type of education, duration of study and date of leaving.
It is possible to add, for example, information requested by an authority to the certificate of resignation.
You can submit a notice of resignation using this form. Please contact your teacher tutor or the head of studies before submitting the notice of resignation.
