About eForm security
According to the service provider, the eForm system has:
- Encrypted connection (https)
- Responses are saved only to a server restricted for Laurea’s use
- Surveys have sometimes included sensitive information, for example a nurse answering questions
- Only the survey creators and Laurea’s system administrator (if necessary) can access the responses. The survey creator must ensure they delete responses from the server as often as possible.
- When it concerns sensitive information: the form settings must ensure that responses are not sent by email to the respondent or the processors of the responses
- In principle respondents’ IP addresses are technically stored on the server, but only the system’s technical administrator has access to them and even they would have to work hard to view them. The survey creator (e.g., a student) who manages the form and the administrators cannot access this information
As a matter of good practice, a privacy statement should always be attached to a survey form (there is a template in the form editor). Here is one example of how it has been used: Link to eForm example
