Reporting concerns, harassment or inappropriate behaviour

If you have experience of or know about an incident involving inappropriate behaviour, bullying, discrimination, harassment or another grievance, send a message as an encrypted email (see instructions) to huoli.hairinta@laurea.fi. Head of Studies Satu Kaunio is responsible for handling reports related to harassment and other notifications concerning studies and learning, as well as matters under the SORA Act.

Safety report

If you have experience of a deviation, observation, near-miss related to Laurea’s operations, or if you have an idea to improve our shared safety, make a safety report.

Idea for improving the implementation of a course/project or for developing your studies

If you have an idea or ideas for developing your course or project studies, or your studies in general:

  • Raise the matter with the course teacher/project supervisor.
  • You can also provide course feedback on your studies. You can give interim feedback during the course and final feedback at the end of the course.
  • If you cannot establish contact with the teacher/supervisor or your feedback is not responded to, you can, if necessary, contact that person’s supervisor. You can find the supervisor by typing the teacher’s name into the people search on the student intranet front page. After typing the teacher’s name, click the magnifying glass and then the person’s name to see the supervisor information.
  • You can also give feedback at any time about anything related to your studies via Laureamko’s Vox Box.

Handling problems related to the supervisory relationship

If you are dissatisfied with the supervisory relationship between you and your teacher/tutor:

  • Raise the matter with the person concerned and try to resolve it together through discussion.
  • If you cannot reach the teacher/supervisor, you can contact their supervisor. You can find the supervisor as described above via the intranet people search. If necessary, you can seek support from the head of the higher education unit or a person appointed by them.
  • Read the degree regulations.

Grade appeal

If you are dissatisfied with the assessment of your study attainment or with the accreditation of studies you have completed elsewhere or competence demonstrated otherwise:

  • Procedure
  • Request a correction orally or in writing from the teacher who made the assessment or from the person who made the decision on the accreditation of studies. Your request for correction must be made within 14 days of the time when you had the opportunity to obtain the assessment results and the application of the assessment criteria to your case, or when you received the decision concerning accreditation.
  • The teacher will provide an answer to the request for correction within 14 days of receiving the request.
  • If you are dissatisfied with the decision made following your request for correction, you can appeal to the Laurea Board of Examiners within 14 days of being notified of the decision. No further appeal can be made against that decision.
  • Read the degree regulations.
