Have you lost your study entitlement?
If you have lost your study entitlement, you can apply to have the study entitlement re-granted. The study entitlement can be granted only if, taking into account the remaining studies, you have the possibility to complete the studies within a reasonable time.
For those subject to the free for the academic year, the condition for re-granting the study entitlement is payment of the free for the academic year and the application handling fee in accordance with the Government Decree.
If your study entitlement at Laurea began on or after 1 August 2015, you can apply for re-granting the study entitlement using the form on this page.
If your study entitlement began before 1 August 2015, you can reapply as a student through the joint application or the separate application. You can apply in the separate application if you have been withdrawn from Laurea for at least one term or more and you otherwise meet the eligibility criteria.
You can apply to complete an unfinished higher education degree at Laurea in the separate application if you have completed 160 credits (Bachelor´s degree students) or 55 credits (master´s degree students). Read more: L160 separate application (AMK) or L55 separate application (YAMK). Can’t complete your studies within the study entitlement period?
Application for a discretionary extension period
If you cannot complete your studies within the study entitlement period, you can apply for a discretionary extension before the end of the study entitlement period.
Present the specific reasons that justify your application.
An extension of the study entitlement can generally be applied for only once and for a maximum of one year. An extension can be granted only for a specific reason and is always discretionary. During the extension period it must be realistic to complete the studies. An extension will not be granted if you already have the credits required for the degree.
An extension of the study entitlement can be applied for only during these periods: 1 Nov – 30 Nov and 1 May – 31 May.
If an extension of study entitlement is not granted to a student, the study entitlement is declared terminated and the student is registered as withdrawn.
Do you want to submit a rectification request against the decision on re-granting or extending the study entitlement?
