Higher education students are entitled to a student-priced meal at Laurea campus restaurants. For the discounted meal, use an electronic student card or Kela’s meal subsidy card. Kela’s meal subsidy is deducted from the price paid by the student.
You can receive meal support if you are completing a bachelor’s degree or a master’s degree at a Finnish university of applied sciences or if you are an exchange student. Students of the Open University of Applied Sciences, commissioned education students or those in continuing education unfortunately do not receive Kela-subsidized lunch.
The student lunch typically includes a hot main course (meat, fish or vegetarian), a salad or vegetables with dressing, bread and spread, and a drink.
From the campus student restaurants you can also buy breakfast porridge, other healthy breakfast options as well as packed meals, tea and coffee during the study day.

Lunch facilities for eating your own packed meals on campuses
There are spaces on campuses for eating packed meals brought from home. The lunch spaces have a refrigerator, microwaves, a water point, trash bins, as well as tables and chairs. Please bring the forks and spoons you need for eating and clean up after yourself.
Quiet rooms
If you need a place to take a breather, rest, meditate or just be quiet during the study day, go to the quiet room at the Tikkurila and Leppävaara campuses. At other campuses you can book a meeting room as needed.
If you are a neurodivergent student and need a space to calm down during the study day, you can use the quiet room. A calm space helps you recover during the day and manage your load.
Come to the quiet room alone or with a friend — whichever you prefer. These spaces are intended for all members of our higher education community for rest and refreshment in the midst of a hectic everyday life. Quiet rooms may be used according to the campuses’ opening hours.
Quiet rooms in Tikkurila and Leppävaara
The quiet room is located in Tikkurila at the end of the fourth-floor corridor, room B410, and in Leppävaara in room 127 near the Tuomo auditorium.
Ask the lobby services about using the quiet rooms.
Rules for using the quiet rooms
