Microsoft Teams
Microsoft Teams is a collaboration and communication application through which you can join online meetings, chat with teachers and other students, and collaborate on group work. The app can also be used to share files, learning materials and other study-related content in one place.
These instructions are based on information from Microsoft. Check Microsoft’s site for the most up-to-date instructions before you start:
Downloading the Teams desktop app
The Teams desktop app contains all features and the browser and mobile versions may lack some features. All members of Laurea get access to the Teams app through Laurea’s Microsoft 365 cloud service.
Open the download site in a browser
Open the address in your browser Download Teams desktop and mobile apps
Download the app
The page detects your device (Windows or Mac) and offers the correct version. Select “Download Microsoft Teams for Windows/Mac”
Open and run the downloaded file
Usually the file can be found in your browser’s top-right corner or in the Downloads folder.
If Teams requires signing in with a Microsoft 365 account, Laurea students sign in with their student accounts (username@laurea.fi) in the same way as for other Laurea services.
Recording Teams meetings and sharing recordings
The meeting is recorded to OneDrive/SharePoint/Stream. The recording can also be shared outside the organisation.
Note:
- The meeting recording appears in the meeting chat or the channel where it was recorded. Links are available for seven days.
- Inviting meeting bots or other AI tools to a meeting or event is prohibited without the consent of the organiser and all participants.
