Space Education Symposium: Bridging the gaps

We are excited to share that the AEROFUSE (Erasmus+) project, represented by Laurea University of Applied Sciences, is co-organising the Space Education Symposium 2027, taking place on 20 January 2027 as part of the Winter Satellite Workshop 2027.

The symposium will bring together educators, researchers, students and space industry professionals to map current and future needs in the space sector and discuss how space education can best respond to the key gaps, e.g. between the rapidly evolving needs of the space industry and current educational programmes, between local teaching practices and international students’ learning needs.

The symposium addresses how to best deepen skills, strengthen practical training, and foster connections with the industry. The topics may cover developing new teaching methods, courses and initiatives for building an effective educational ecosystem. Focus is on higher education, vocational training and adult education, but ideas and solutions for new types of reskilling and capability development are encouraged as well. The symposium will feature oral presentations, a poster session, networking opportunities, and a panel discussion on How can we best align education with industry needs?

The Annual Winter Satellite Workshop will bring together thousands of
researchers, engineers, policy makers, entrepreneurs and students all over Europe.

Participation in the conference is free of charge. All abstracts are submitted via Space Workshop webpage and evaluated by the Program Committee. The Conference features extensive Space Business EXPO, round tables, workshops pitch competitions, student events and many other activities.
