Graduation ceremony

The registration link will be published in the student intranet and in the email sent by the student services office to students who have submitted a graduation notification. You can also register for the ceremony if you are about to graduate but have not yet submitted your graduation announcement or if it has not yet been processed by the time of the ceremony. In other words, you can attend the ceremony as long as your graduation falls within the academic term of that ceremony. Diplomas are not handed out at the graduation ceremony.

We organise several ceremonies because all graduates don´t fit into one event. Each graduate may invite maximun two guests. The ceremony can also be followed online on Laurea’s YouTube channel.

Dress rehearsal & gowns

The dress rehearsal is compulsory for all graduating students attending the ceremony. During the dress rehearsal the event schedule is reviewed and the graduates who have arrived for the ceremony are put in alphabetical order.

Before the ceremony graduates will receive Laurea gowns and Laurea graduation caps. The gown is lent to the student for the ceremony and must be returned afterwards, but students may keep the graduation cap. Gowns and caps are free of charge for students. Please note that we do not post caps.

Arrival

Due to limited venue capacity, graduates’ guests (max. 2 per graduate) are asked to arrive no earlier than half an hour before the ceremony starts. Guests will be invited into the auditorium after the dress rehearsal ends, approximately 15 minutes before the ceremony begins.

The campus is located in Espoo with good transport connections at Vanha Maantie 9, 02650 Espoo. More information about arrival on Laurea’s website.
