GreenSense
The project tests biodegradable pressure sensors that are integrated into insoles. They are used to measure older adults’ gait and balance to support the further development of the sensor technology.

Project description
GreenSense is a joint project between Laurea University of Applied Sciences and Aalto University that develops biodegradable, insole-integrated pressure sensors for monitoring older adults’ mobility and balance. The sensors are tested in supervised gait and balance assessments at Laurea’s facilities. The aim is to evaluate their usability, comfort and safety, and to collect anonymised measurement data to support the further development of the sensor technology and related analytics.
