About me

Virpi Lund works as a Senior Lecturer in Social Services and as a Coordinator for Pedagogy and Co-creation at Laurea University of Applied Sciences. In her research, she examines the development of collective agency and learning among individuals and groups within a systematic and facilitated change processes. Her methodological approach integrates expansive developmental research based on the theory of expansive learning and cultural-historical activity theory (CHAT), the methodology of formative interventions, and applied ethnography. She leads Community Workshops that bring together residents, entrepreneurs, community organizations, municipal administration, and various city stakeholders—including vulnerable groups such as immigrants, youth, children, and older adults—to co-develop solutions to societal challenges. These initiatives strengthen participation, inclusion, and sustainable change.
