PIONEER for partners
In the PIONEER alliance, ecosystem collaboration brings together various actors from educational and research institutions to authorities, companies, competence centres, representatives of the third sector, funders and local residents. Laurea conducts regional development work, for example with its key partner network and the Regional Council of Uusimaa.

What do Laurea’s partners gain from PIONEER collaboration?
In matters of sustainable development, the regional and European ecosystem collaboration of PIONEER universities is based on utilising the expertise of different actors and up-to-date research knowledge, seeking solutions to common challenges and implementing them in various configurations, and creating resource-efficient practices.
PIONEER universities make their regional ecosystems and related working methods and cooperation practices visible to one another. This highlights the diversity of ecosystems and questions related to their modelling. Ecosystem collaboration increases peer and joint learning between partners as well as the growth of ecosystem-related expertise.
Research-based knowledge and expertise to support development
Universities produce research and reports to meet the needs of collaboration partners. Partners benefit from universities’ experts in developing services, practices and solutions.
Students involved in co-development
In PIONEER, challenges are solved together. Collaboration enables testing, piloting and developing new ideas in real operating environments among different actors.
Networks and impact locally and in Europe
Collaboration opens doors to new partnerships and European networks, strengthens learning between actors and increases the long-term impact of development work.
