PIONEER alliance leaders meet at Laurea to plan the next steps of cooperation
Laurea is hosting the European PIONEER University Alliance’s key governance and development forum.
In 2026, Laurea holds the presidency of the European PIONEER University Alliance and is hosting the Alliance’s Governance Week on 22–24 September at Laurea’s Leppävaara campus in Espoo. The event brings together the Alliance’s Governing Board, Steering Committee, local coordinators and work package leaders from ten European higher education institutions.
Governance Week is the PIONEER Alliance’s key governance and development forum. It provides an opportunity to assess the Alliance’s progress, review its strategic objectives and agree on future priorities for cooperation. Topics discussed during the week include the Alliance-level strategy, results reporting, impact measurement and shared key performance indicators.
The programme also covers the development of PIONEER’s thought leadership, the international visibility and communication of its achievements, and a roadmap for the interoperability of digital solutions across the participating higher education institutions.
Participants will also discuss the future priorities of the Alliance’s research, development and innovation activities, as well as how its members can jointly build broader research consortia and launch new collaborative research and development initiatives.
The General Assembly held during the week will bring together students, staff, researchers, decision-makers and partners from across Europe to discuss the vision of an open campus and the future of European higher education.
