PIONEER for staff
PIONEER-alliance supports the internationalisation of universities’ staff, professional development, networking and working in a diverse work environment. An open campus, a centre of expertise and shared operating models offer opportunities for mobility, collaboration and competence development in the European university community.

Benefits and opportunities of alliance activities for staff
Internationalisation is multifaceted
PIONEER enables staff to engage in international mobility and cooperation flexibly. Mobility can be physical, virtual or a combination of both, and it supports professional development and the accumulation of new skills.
Cross-university collaboration
The alliance brings together European colleagues and opens doors to new forms of collaboration, joint development projects and sharing of expertise. Harmonised practices and smoother processes between partner universities make expert work easier.
Centre of expertise
The PIONEER alliance’s centre of expertise brings together education, research, development and innovation activities, regional development and societal service into a seamless whole. The centre of expertise acts as a platform for developing the alliance’s long-term strategic and multidisciplinary cooperation. The aim is to produce research-based, impactful education and practical solutions that benefit universities as well as local and European stakeholders.
The PIONEER alliance’s Researcher Map tool supports cross-disciplinary networking of university staff in the development of teaching and research.
