Project background
Security in Arctic regions requires close cooperation between authorities. Information is often scattered across systems, making it hard to build a clear situational picture and act quickly. The project was launched to bring data together and support joint operations.
Project objectives
- Authorities: gain a shared situational picture and better decision-making tools
- Border security actors: improve cross-border and cross-sector cooperation
- Technology developers: create solutions compatible with existing systems
- Citizens: increase the sense of safety in Arctic areas
Project activities
The AI-ARC project
- developed an AI-based virtual control room
- integrated multiple data sources into a shared interface
- tested the solution with practitioners in real-life scenarios
- connected the system with existing security platforms
- improved information sharing between authorities
- evaluated usability and impact on safety
Project outputs and results
The project delivered a virtual control room platform that integrates data and supports cooperation between authorities. It works with existing systems and helps build a faster and clearer situational awareness, improving overall security.
