Research, development and innovation (RDI) activities at Laurea are integrated as part of university teaching. In the learning environments of the Leppävaara campus in Espoo, development projects are implemented together with the students, personnel, enterprises and other collaborative partners.

Directions and parking
The Leppävaara campus is in an easily accessible location in Espoo. The campus is located near the junction of the Kehä I ring road and the Turku motorway. Of the public transport options, the easiest way to get to the Leppävaara campus is by local train. Leppävaara is also accessible by bus, and for instance bus line 550 also runs along Kehä I. Both the Leppävaara railway station and the bus terminal are a short walk from the campus.
The Leppävaara campus has designated parking spaces for guests and personnel behind the Finnish School of Watchmaking, next to the main door, and behind the campus under the canopy on the side of the Reebok Arena. Parking spaces reserved for Laurea can be used by those displaying a parking permit available from the Coordinators at the Campus Info.
Students and guests can freely use the parking spaces of the Leppävaara Sports Park and the Rebook Arena with a parking disc.
Accessibility
There are three disabled parking spaces in front of the main door. Easy access is available from street level through the main door as well as two entrances in stairway B on floor 0. Stairway B has a lift which goes to all floors in the building. There is one disabled access toilet in connection with the main lobby of the first floor, and two are on the ground floor in connection with the entrance to BarLaurea.
Learning environments and services on campus
There are various differents kinds of Learning environments and Living Labs such as Circular Economy Living Lab, EventLab, BarLab and BarLaurea, which is an innovative learning environment and development centre for hospitality services. BarLaurea comprises a lunch restaurant, a cafe, an á la carte restaurant and catering services. The activities of BarLaurea are integrated into study units, and students have a central role in producing all service. The lunch restaurant offers lunch at a special student price for those with a Kela meal subsidy card or a student identification card.
The Laurea Library has a branch in Leppävaara which focuses on scientific and professional literature.
