Laurea as an employer

“At Laurea, we listen to each other. We can respect each person as unique and value different competences. We want to be proud of our work and results.” – Tiina Päivärinne, HR Director

Laurea is one of Finland's most appealing universities of applied sciences and one of the best considering students’ employment. Nearly eight thousand future working life professionals study on our six campuses in Uusimaa.

In addition to education, we are a strong actor in research and regional development. We conduct practical research and development work in strategic areas, based on our strong expertise in the fields of social services and health care, service business, and security. In RDI activities, we have strong international networks.

Cooperation is a central part of the Laurea way of working. Studies, RDI activities, and regional development take place in close cooperation with various actors and sectors in the society, as well as with international networks.

Communal Laurea

Our work at Laurea is genuinely significant; through education and research, we can influence both in the scale of individual people and society as a whole. Every day we work on learning, competence development, and new knowledge. As a higher education institution, we produce new experts for working life, as well as new knowledge and competence to support vitality and well-being.

Our activities are based on openness, effectiveness, and responsibility. Sustainable development is one of the strategic themes guiding our institution's activities. In addition, our daily life is guided by Laurea's Ethical Guidelines, which helps to act professionally and respectfully even in difficult situations.

Laurea's work culture is described in particular by extensive and equal cooperation, where students, teachers, and co-operative partners alike function as equal partners, exchanging ideas, and growing together. In the Laurea community, we value everyone's competence and share our competence openly. We learn from each other every day.
