The path studies concept is used to refer to a study entity completed at an open university of applied sciences in a goal-oriented manner before seeking education leading to a degree (recommendation by the network of open UAS on the path studies process). Path studies are completed as integrated studies in universities of applied sciences.
A student registered for path studies towards a master's degree at a university of applied sciences may choose if he or she wishes to pay for their studies according to the number of credits (EUR 15 per credit) or pay the tuition fee of EUR 400, in which case he or she may also take other courses offered by the Open University of Applied Sciences.
Individuals who have completed more than 30 credits of path studies towards a master's degree at a university of applied sciences do not submit their application for the joint application process, but the university of applied sciences may grant them admission as master's degree students via a separate application process.
