Congratulations Laurea graduates!
Over 300 graduates celebrated in Laurea's traditional Graduation Ceremony.
Friday the 14th of June was a day to remember for hundreds of students who graduated from Laurea on that date. Graduates were celebrated in Laurea's traditional Graduation Ceremony that was held at the Hall of Culture (Kulttuuritalo) in Helsinki.
The ceremony honoured all the students who completed their academic degrees during the spring term. Over 300 graduates were present as well as hundreds of their close friends and relatives.
Graduate's speech was this year held by Bachelor of Business Administration Ali Najafi:
- For me Laurea is not just a university and I didn’t graduate with just the certificate, Najafi said.
- In Laurea I’ve learned much more. I have had a chance to improve my social skills, chance to have new friends and go to exchange. But the most important thing I’ve learned in Laurea is to find who I am and what I want to do in the future.
Laurea’s graduates traditionally wore a deep blue gown and a cap. During the commencement each student walked up the stage, where he or she shook hands with the President. Before the end of the ceremony the freshly graduated students were asked to throw their caps in the air.
The Graduation Ceremony was streamed live for all those friends and relatives who were unable to attend. It can be watched anytime on Laurea's YouTube channel.
