Learning environment and library

Located on the west bank of the Porvoo River, Porvoo Campus is the result of a unique design process that involved the building’s users together with the designers, architects and interior designers. This campus is designed for meetings and learning. This is reflected in the multipurpose, adaptable, open and bright spaces as well as the inspiring and carefully considered interiors. Designed by Siren Architects Ltd and furnished by Sistem Ltd, the campus represents a new way of thinking about space use. Openness and encounters describe both the activities and the use of space, aiming to promote learning together and the sharing of competence.

Porvoo Campus activities are characterised by learning together and working on projects driven by working life. The campus is also open to the public daily and offers a cozy restaurant, an extensive professional library and many pleasant meeting places. Close cooperation with the business community is part of the Porvoo Campus concept. This cooperation is concretised, for example, in the Named Premises collaboration with companies and communities.

The Porvoo Campus library is a joint library of Laurea University of Applied Sciences and HAAGA-HELIA. The collection includes literature and journals in business, tourism and health care. There is also a wide and versatile electronic collection to support studying and a wireless network. The Porvoo Campus library is a bright and quiet space with computers. Students can use numerous group work spaces on different floors of the campus, and on the second floor there is a separate workroom for quiet studying.
