Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Safety, Security and Risk Management
A degree in Security Management prepares students for a career in security related business. Throughout their studies, students develop the necessary knowledge and skills to succeed in today's dynamic and competitive security environment. They acquire a broad understanding of security in various industry sectors and gain practical knowledge of all the basic functions of business.
Graduates will have essential skills in teamwork, communication and project work. As a key element of their studies, students collaborate with lecturers and experts from various security businesses to work on various projects and authentic security challenges in an international environment.
Security graduates are practically oriented and can work in different organizations and companies as experts and managers. They are able to employ analytical skills in decision-making and will have the competence in establishing and operating their own enterprises. The student develops his/her competence in designing and developing services.
The degree programme in Security Management (210 ECTS) consists of core competence (150 ECTS) and complementary competence (60 ECTS) modules. Complementary studies are available in risk management, corporate security and safety operations and international security. In addition, you have an opportunity to study more Information security as complementary competence.
Students can also choose study modules from other Laurea campuses and degree programs (Business Information Technology, Business management, for examples), other universities in the area as well as partner universities abroad.
