Study unit's learning outcomes

The student is able to:

• write a CV in Finnish
• apply for a job
• be interviewed for a job
• present his/her workplace
• write work-related emails
• understand and use general work vocabulary

Course content

At the Leppävaara campus. Canvas will be used.
The course is aiming at getting to know general work vocabulary, to do one's own CV, to make a job application, to have a job interview, to learn grammar some more, and to practice all those skills during the study unit. The target level is A2.2-B.1.1 in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages

Prerequisites

15 credits or otherwise acquired Finnish skills on level A2.1.-A2.2. in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Required attendance: 80 % of lessons unless otherwise agreed.

Learning materials

Learning materials are mostly authentic documents of the fields of social services and health care. Materials will be mainly provided by the teacher and shared via Optima. Some materials are expected to be retrieved by the students attending the course.

Evaluation

There will be no grade for the course. The students will do exercises, assignments and presentations in and out of the classroom. All assignments have to be done during the course.
