Pumppu was a cross regional, ERDF funded project aiming at developing citizen centric welfare services with multiple service providers in the years 2011-2014.

The subproject of the Laurea University of Applied Sciences focused on welfare services as larger entities arranged around the wellbeing pathway. The objective of the project was to design a citizen centric and seamless operations model for the wellbeing pathway and to pilot services that support the caring process. Also the usability of IT solutions such as the wellbeing navigator "Coper" was investigated in the project.

The goal as stated in the subproject’s research framework was to empower the service users in their life situation and to motivate them to healthier lifestyles.

The Laurea subproject was carried out in the western Uusimaa region with heart and diabetes patients, the unemployed and youth facing marginalization and families with disabled children and youth as case groups. The thematic focus was on services preventing marginalization and promoting health.
