Project background
Competence related to human rights, discrimination, and racism varies in education, and teachers need easy-to-use materials to address these topics. A joint European project was needed to bring together research, education, and practical actors and to provide open content for different target groups.
Project objectives
- Strengthen human rights competence and anti-racism work in education.
- Support the social responsibility of educational institutions.
- Increase understanding of equality, fair trade, and human rights.
- Provide learning materials based on stories and research.
- Offer an open platform for addressing and teaching human rights topics.
- Support inclusion and the prevention of discrimination in Europe.
Project activities
- Carried out research and development work in cooperation with bachelor’s and master’s degree programmes.
- Collaborated with higher education institutions, organisations, and third-sector actors.
- Collected and produced human rights stories for educational use.
- Built an open and user-friendly eStories website.
- Tested the materials in different courses and learning environments.
Project results and outputs
- An open eStories website featuring human rights stories and research materials.
- New teaching resources on human rights and the prevention of racism.
- Strengthened cooperation between European higher education institutions and organisations.
- Improved capacity to address equality and social responsibility in education.
