International Alumni Meet-Up was held in Leppävaara

​​International Alumni Meet-Up was held at Leppävaara campus on 28th of September 2016. The event gathered Laurea´s international students and alumnies together.

At the meet-up there were presentations from different companies: Academic Work, Speakersforum, Sonera and BiiSafe. Addition to that there were also guest speaker Dr. Perpetual Crentsil, anthropologist and a journalist currently working as a postdoctoral researcher at the Social and Cultural Anthropology, University of Helsinki. Between the speakers there was also free networking. The International Alumni Group meet-up was organized first time in this form and extent.​

International students add value to Laurea

Head of Studies, Mari Koski talked about the upcoming tuition fees for non EU students and the challenges of the new tuition fees in terms of attractiveness.

Koski also pointed out that Information on alumnies employment status is highly valued here in Laurea. We want to support our students and alumnies career opportunities and that´s why we implemented common Career planning study unit in our curricula in 2014. The study unit supports the student's professional growth and the job hunting process

International graduates to work life

Planning officer Milton Aldrete introduced International graduates to work life –project, which aims to enhance the employability with concrete tools and its goal is to secure a work place to at least 100 international graduates. The project is organized together with Haaga-Helia, Arcada, Diakonia, Laurea and Metropolia.

Network to get work –event is organized in 31st of January 2017 in Laurea Leppävaara campus. There it is possible for companies to meet students from different fields looking for job placements, summer jobs and long term employment.​
