Common and complementary competence studies

Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree studies in international separate application begin with common core competence studies (10 ECTS) and complementary competence studies (20 ECTS), after which students proceed to complete the core competence studies (30 ECTS) within three fields of education (specialisation track). Students to choose one of the paths that best aligns with their interests and career goals.

The programme is implemented as a blended learning.

In addition to these, students complete a master’s thesis (30 ECTS).

Service Innovation & Design
The studies in the Service Innovation and Design programme equip students with a strong foundation in human‑centred research, creative design methods, strategic management and futures thinking. Students learn to apply ethnographic research to uncover deep customer insights, use design thinking and service design to create meaningful solutions and use futures thinking to anticipate change and identify new opportunities. They also
gain the ability to shape service‑driven strategies and develop viable business models. Together, these competencies prepare students to drive service innovation, customer experience development, and strategic transformation across diverse organizations.

Project Management
Project Management enhances the student’s ability to anticipate, ideate,
manage, and lead research and development projects within organizations. The programme is grounded in the development of working life, as it integrates project management methods, service design, and foresight tools into real-world research, development, and innovation projects. The Learning by Developing (LbD) pedagogy
strengthens the student’s capacity to create and implement innovative concepts, systems, services, and products in processes aimed at solving future challenges.

Students learn to manage complex projects and to apply both analytical and creative methods in leading organizational change. The programme supports students’ competences to work in projects and opens doors to responsible expert and leadership positions in working life.
