Applications for Finnish-language programmes starting in autumn 2026 were submitted in the universities’ first joint application of spring 2026, 7 – 21 January 2026.

How do I participate in the joint application?

Fill in the application

You can complete the application during the application period 7th January 2026 at 08:00 – 21st January 2026 (ends at 15:00) at Studyinfo.fi

The application period ends on the last day of the application at 15:00.

Do not guess information on the application form. Before filling in your application, have your degree and work certificates at hand and take the necessary information from them. The applicant is responsible for ensuring that the information provided during the application, such as educational background, grades and work experience, is correct.

The study place is conditional until the accuracy of the information and documents used in the application has been verified.

Attach copies of certificates to your application if requested on the application form. This will speed up the processing of your student selection later on.

You can select up to six preferences on the application form.

The application preferences cannot be changed at any point after the application period. Application options cannot be removed or added after the application period has ended.

Instructions for filling in the application form

After you have submitted your application, you will receive a confirmation message to the email address you provided on the application form.

Add the requested copies of degree certificates to your application form

Copies of certificates must be attached to the application in the universities’ second joint application of spring 2026 by 28th January 2026 at 15:00, only if you are applying with one of the following degrees;

  • Finnish upper secondary school syllabus without the matriculation examination
  • Matriculation examination completed in Finland before 1990
  • Vocational qualification completed in Finland before 2017
  • Vocational or specialist vocational qualification completed in Finland before 2018
  • Post-secondary or vocational higher-level qualification
  • International matriculation examination (EB-, IB-, Reifeprüfung/DIA qualifications)
  • Higher education degree completed in Finland (Alternatively, you can share a link to your study records from the Oma Opintopolku service on the application form)
  • Degree completed abroad (if the certificate language is not Finnish, Swedish or English, you must also submit a copy of an official translation by an authorised translator).

Save your attachments in PDF/JPG/PNG format. Name the files as “LastName_FirstName_document”, for example Smith_John_degreecertificate

If you take a photograph of your certificate, the entire certificate must be visible in the image and the image must be sharp so that all details are readable.

If necessary, you can also mail the attachments to Laurea University of Applied Sciences, Admissions Services, Ratatie 22, 01300 Vantaa. Even then, the copies of certificates must arrive by the deadline.

If the applicant is a refugee in Finland or in a comparable status or an asylum seeker and cannot document their previous degree with documents, a copy of the asylum decision or residence permit on grounds of protection must be submitted to the admissions services of all universities of the programmes applied for by 28 January 2026 at 15:00.

Do not upload sensitive attachments to the application.

Copies of work certificates for Masters degree education

Applicants for Masters degrees must attach copies of their work certificates to their application form demonstrating the minimum requirement of two years of work experience required for the programme. Work experience must be related to the degree you are applying for or related to the degree you have graduated from. Work experience acquired after the graduation date of the degree you are applying with up until 31st July 2026 will be considered. We will verify the work certificates from those selected as students. If you are selected for admission, you must upload the required work experience certificates to your application form by 9th July 2026 15:00.

The work certificate must show, among other things, the exact start and end dates of employment, the employer’s contact information, job duties and, in the case of part-time work, the working hours. If the employment continues, request a provisional work certificate from the employer. The work certificate must have the employer’s or the employer’s representative’s signature (stamp) or an electronic signature that can be verified. Employment contracts or other documents issued at the beginning of employment are not considered. All work experience must be proven with valid work experience certificates issued by the employer.

Work experience which cannot be proven with work experience certificates will not be considered. Admission to Master’s programmes is conditional until all work experience certificates have been checked by the admissions services. If the applicant does not provide the sufficient documentary evidence of work experience by the deadline given, the offered study place will be cancelled. We advise to prepare the required work certificates well in advance.

Entrepreneurship in Finland is accepted as work experience if there is a certificate showing that the applicant is or has been insured under YEL. (YEL = entrepreneur’s pension insurance). Entrepreneurship abroad will be substantiated with equivalent official documents.

Work experience must be indicated in full months. Applicants should convert part-time work (work under 35 hours per week) into full-time equivalents such that 150 hours OR 20 working days lasting at least 7 hours per day correspond to one (1) month of full-time work. Work experience does not have to be continuous or obtained working for the same employer. The amount of work experience awarded for parallel employment relationships may only equate to the amount awarded for full-time employment.

A work practice placement/internship that is part of the degree you are applying with will not be considered as work experience. Also, military or non-military national service, women’s voluntary military service or child-care leave will not be counted towards work experience.

An extract from the name register and a service relationship certificate are accepted. The official extract or certificate must bear the issuer’s signature (stamp) or an electronic signature that can be verified.

Apply for individual arrangements for entrance examinations by 28th January 2026 at 15:00

Applications for individual arrangements, with attachments, must be submitted in the universities’ first joint application of spring 2026 between 7th January 2026 at 08:00 and 21st January 2026 at 15:00 (at the latest).

If you need individual arrangements for the entrance exam, fill in the e-form for individual arrangements and attach a copy of the attestation or statement (e.g. medical certificate) that indicates the ground for individual arrangements.

If any attachments are written in another language than Finnish, Swedish or English, the applicant has to also provide a translated copy of the document with an authorized translator’s name, signature and stamp.

Please attach copies of attestations that support your request (e.g. medical certificate or equivalent statement on the nature of your disease or disability, or certificate on dyslexia or learning difficulty). Those who request support measures, such as additional time, on the grounds of dyslexia have to attach a statement of a trained special needs teacher, an expert psychologist, speech therapist or specialist medical doctor (e.g. child neurologist, neurologist or phoniatrician). The statement shall indicate that you need support measures for taking the exam due to dyslexia. The UAS may accept an equivalent decision made by The Finnish Matriculation Examination Board if it contains the granted support measures.

The validity of statements is assessed on a case-by-case basis depending on the persistence of disability, disease or learning difficulty. For dyslexia, only statements that have been obtained at the age of 16 or later are considered. Do not send original certificates but be prepared to present the originals at the start of your studies should you become accepted to the study programme. Information related to your health shall be kept secret (Section 24, Act on the Openness of Government Activities).

Admissions Services will inform you by email on individual arrangements that you have been granted.

The announcement on individual arrangements in the entrance examination is exam-specific and valid only in that particular entrance examination. If, for some reason, individual arrangements cannot be arranged as requested by the applicant, the UAS sends a written notification, with justifications, to the applicant.

Requests for individual arrangements sent after the deadline are processed only in acute, exceptional cases. Individual arrangements cannot be granted if the request is submitted too late, with regard to the timetable of the entrance examination, or individual arrangements are otherwise deemed impossible to arrange.

If the applicant is not satisfied with the arrangements stated in the announcement, they should contact the university of applied sciences without delay so that it can, if necessary, revise its previous decision. When the applicant receives the final joint application selection decision, they can lodge a request for a review on the granted arrangements as part of an appeal against the selection decision.
