Bachelor level Business studies for Ukrainians available free of charge in business projects
Ukrainians who arrived to Finland because of the war and are receiving temporary protection, have the opportunity to start or to continue business studies free of charge at Laurea University of Applied Sciences in Fall 2022 and/or Spring 2023.
Studying takes place at the Hyvinkää campus of Laurea University of Applied Sciences and/or distance learning. The studies are part of the project “YPro Ukr – Business Project Studies for Ukrainians” and are funded by the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture. The main goal of the project is to foster the higher education of Ukrainians staying in Finland due to the war.
Studies take place in international project teams of 6-8 students. Studying includes business theory and a business project with a partner company. Projects are guided by Laurea´s expert senior lecturers. Students have the opportunity to complete 15-30 credits (ECTS) during one academic season. The studies correspond to university bachelor level studies. Company project studies will increase working life and teamwork skills. In addition, the students will build a network with partner companies. According to the Yearly National Survey, the business students´ rate Laurea´s company project studies in Top 3.
The content of the studies cover a wide range of business topics, such as digital business development, project management, marketing and service design. Participation in the studies requires sufficient English language skills. Laurea is prepared to organise laptops to Ukrainian students for the duration of their studies.
Ukrainians´ studies begin with an individual discussion with a tutor teacher. In the discussions the student´s previous studies and work experience are reviewed and the student´s own areas of interest will be paid attention to. Based on these discussions, the company projects in which the student participated will be agreed. The students will be orientated, and the studying begins, starting August 29,2022.
If you are interested in these studies, please leave your contact information on this form. We will invite those who have left their contact information to a virtual meeting and discussion on Thursday 25.8.2022 at 12-13. The virtual meeting will be held in English and a link to meeting will be sent to participants. Authorities and other entities working with Ukrainians are also welcome to participate in the event.
