Accessibility at Hyvinkää campus

Arrival and parking

There are several accessible parking spaces at Laurea’s Hyvinkää campus. One accessible parking space is located directly in front of the campus’s main entrance at Uudenmaankatu 22, Hyvinkää. Two parking spaces are located in the backyard, accessible from Helenenkatu. The parking spaces are marked with blue wheelchair symbol signs. 

There is space for drop-off traffic in front of the main entrance at Uudenmaankatu 22, Hyvinkää. There is a canopy at the entrance where you can wait for the drop-off vehicle.

The accessible entrance is through the main doors at Uudenmaankatu 22, Hyvinkää. The entrance is not at street level; the accessible route is via a ramp starting next to the stairs. The ramp is made of non-slip material. The main entrance doors have an automatic opening mechanism. The area in front of the entrance and the vestibule are level.

The nearest entrance from the accessible parking spaces in the backyard is the back door, which also has a ramp made of stone slabs. The back door has a 5 cm high threshold and manual doors. From the back door it is possible to reach the front door’s accessible entrance via Salonkatu.

Interior facilities

The information point at Laurea’s Hyvinkää campus is located in the lobby immediately after the main entrance vestibule on the right. From a mobility perspective, the Hyvinkää campus is accessible. There is accessible access to all premises.

There are two elevators on campus. One elevator is located in the entrance hall of the Hyvinkää adult education centre. The other elevator is next to the library. The elevator beside the library can be used only with an access badge. Assistance to use this elevator can be requested from the information point. The elevators reach all floors.

There are two accessible toilet facilities at Laurea’s Hyvinkää campus. Both accessible toilets are located on the first floor. The first accessible toilet is near the main lobby and the second accessible toilet is on the side of the shared facilities and the adult education centre.
