Project background
The security and intelligence sector faces rapidly evolving technologies and emerging threats. At the same time, it is difficult for practitioners to keep up with research and innovation and apply them in practice. A shared platform is needed to connect actors and identify relevant solutions.
Project objectives
The objectives of the NOTIONES project were to
- build a European network of security and intelligence practitioners
- identify emerging technologies and their potential
- connect academia, industry, and operational actors
- define needs, requirements, and future priorities in the field.
Project activities
The NOTIONES project succeeded in:
- building a network of security and intelligence stakeholders
- monitoring research and technological developments
- organising workshops and conferences
- collecting needs and experiences from practitioners
- developing roadmaps, recommendations, and reports
- disseminating results to the wider security community.
Key results and outputs
The project resulted in a broad European network and a shared understanding of key technologies and needs. It produced reports, recommendations, and roadmaps that supported future research, innovation, and collaboration in the security domain.
Consortium
The NOTIONES project was implemented by a large international consortium consisting of around 29 organisations from 21 countries. The partners included research organisations, companies, and security and intelligence authorities, such as military, law enforcement, and judicial actors. The consortium brought together complementary expertise and enabled close collaboration between practitioners, academia, and industry.
