Learning environments

On Laurea's Lohja campus, students are active partners for companies, organisations and public bodies during their studies. The studies are oriented toward the working life, and students build up their competence together with workplace actors in genuine workplace development tasks. In the competence that the education aims for, the future needs of working life, customer-oriented service development and cooperation with private and public sector actors are highlighted. Students may complete some of their studies and the compulsory work placement that are part of their degree in development projects by developing their own enterprise and/or in working life in Finland or abroad. Some of the studies can be implemented in cooperation with international higher education institutions and other partners.

Terveystori (Health Market)

Terveystori is a learning environment for health care programmes on the Lohja campus. It consists of three different environments: In the laboratory and simulation environment, students can hone their skills in treating patients in an authentic-looking setting. In the project environment,  students improve their competence through various health and wellbeing related projects in the region and become experts in development with an entrepreneurial spirit. The virtual environment allows students to study wherever and whenever they like.

Yrityslabra (R&D Lab)

Yrityslabra is an alternative study method that offers possibilities for more practically oriented and hands-on work. The students work on projects for companies, NGOs and public organisations. Learning takes place in real-life projects that combine the interests of the student and a company. The aim is to accelerate the student's progress, make finding a job easier after graduation and enable cooperation and joint development, especially with companies in the region.
