Study Modes
At Laurea, degree programmes are offered as daytime studies, blended learning, or online studies. Each study format has its own characteristics – take time to explore them so you’ll understand how the studies are carried out in practice. This will help you choose the format that best fits your needs when applying.
Daytime studies
Daytime studies primarily include on-campus instruction 2–5 days a week between 8 AM and 5 PM. In addition to on-campus teaching, the studies involve independent online learning and group work. The studies also include internships, which, if possible, take place in the student's hometown or nearby areas. The internships are full-time and require attendance.
Blended learning studies
On-campus and online studies are combined in Laurea's blended learning studying. Studying requires self-direction, group and networking skills, and the ability to schedule studies to fit one's life. Although blended learning focuses on online and remote teaching, it also includes on-campus teaching and scheduled online meetings with mandatory attendance. Blended learning studying is full-time, so sufficient time must be allocated for studies. The studies also include internships, which, if possible, take place in the student's hometown or nearby areas. The internships are full-time and require attendance.
Online studies
In online studies, the entire program can be completed online. Online learning requires self-direction, group and networking skills, and the ability to schedule studies to fit one's life. Some of the teaching is scheduled, involving lectures and interactive teaching online. Some of the studies can be completed independently according to your own schedule during the study unit. Online learning is full-time, so sufficient time must be allocated for studies. The studies also include internships, which, if possible, take place in the student's hometown or nearby areas. The internships are full-time and requires attendance.
