Supplementary application period

A supplementary application period may be arranged for degree programmes if the study places have not been filled. Any supplementary application periods will be announced on this page and also at  Studyinfo.fi.

How to apply

The Laurea Bachelor degree programmes in Nursing and Social Services will have a supplementary application period for studies starting in August 2026.

  • The application form(studyinfo.fi) is open during 22nd June – 10th July 2026. The form closes on the last day of the application period at 15:00 Finnish time.
  • Deadline for uploading required attachments: Friday 17th July 15:00
  • The students will be selected based on a two phase entrance exam held at Laurea Tikkurila Campus (address: Ratatie 22, 01300 Vantaa). The written part of the exam is on Wednesday 12th August 2026 and the interview part will be held Thursday 20th August 2026.
  • Results will be announced by the latest 21st August 2026.
  • Studies will begin 31st August 2026 at Laurea Tikkurila Campus.


Applicants must fill in the application form at Studyinfo.fi and upload the required attachments when necessary: upper secondary school graduation certificate or previous Bachelor’s or Master’s degree certificates and proof of Finnish language skills. Applicants can also alternatively provide a link to their Study records in Studyinfo.fi if available.

Entrance examination

The entrance exam does not have any preliminary material. The invitations to the exam will be sent by 3rd August 2026. The students will be selected based on a two phase entrance exam held at Laurea Tikkurila Campus (address: Ratatie 22, 01300 Vantaa). The written part of the exam is on Wednesday 12th August 2026 and the interview part will be held Thursday 20th August 2026. Applicants will be selected for the interview part of the exam based on the results of the written part of the exam. Applicants must pass all parts of the exam to be considered for admission.

A valid proof of identity is required to participate in the exam (passport; Finnish identity card with a photo, issued by police; Finnish driver’s licence; another EU/ETA country identity card with a photo).

The exam result in this additional application period is valid for both Laurea Nursing and Laurea Social Services, but you can be offered only one study place. If you apply to both degree programmes in the additional application period, the order of your preferences in your application form is binding and cannot be changed after the application period closes. If your entrance exam points are enough for admission to the higher(first) choice, the admission to the lower choice will be cancelled.

Proof of Finnish language skills required

To be invited to the entrance exam, applicants must provide proof of Finnish language skills to their application form at Studyinfo.fi latest by 17th July 2026 15:00. Applicants can also alternatively provide a link to their Study records in Studyinfo.fi if available.

Finnish language skills can be proved by the following:

  • Finnish primary and lower secondary education certificate: Finnish as mother tongue or Finnish as a second language
  • Finnish general upper secondary education certificate: Finnish as mother tongue or Finnish as a second language or advanced level (A-kieli), Completed or ongoing.
  • Finnish vocational school certificate with Finnish language as language of instruction. Completed or ongoing.
  • Finnish Matriculation examination certificate: Finnish as mother tongue or Finnish as second language or advanced level (A-kieli).
  • International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma or IB Certificate with Finnish language A or B. Completed or ongoing.
  • European Baccalaureate (EB) diploma with Finnish language L1, L2 or L3. Completed or ongoing.
  • Reifeprüfung (RP) / Deutsche Internationale Abitur (DIA) diploma with Finnish as native language or B1-language. Completed or ongoing.
  • National certificates of language proficiency (YKI): Finnish intermediate level with assessment 3 or 4 in at least three parts of the exam (listening comprehension, speaking, reading comprehension and writing).
  • National certificates of language proficiency (YKI): Finnish advanced level with assessment 5 or 6 in at least 2 parts of the exam (listening comprehension, speaking, reading comprehension and writing)
  • Finnish Civil service language proficiency certificate (Valtionhallinnon kielitutkinto ) in Finnish language with satisfactory, good, or excellent skills
  • Finnish higher education degree with Finnish language as language of instruction. Completed or ongoing.
  • Professional Specialisation studies (Erikoistumisopinnot) in Finnish Higher education with Finnish language as language of instruction.
  • Finnish higher education degree with Civil service language studies in Finnish completed at an acceptable level (Todistus suomalaisessa korkeakoulussa suoritetusta virkamiessuomen opinnoista).
  • Maahanmuuttajien kotouttamiskoulutus / Integration training completed in Finland (completed or ongoing)
  • Finnish language courses in Adult education (aikuislukio, aikuiskoulutus, opisto) completed in Finland.
  • Finnish language courses in Higher education completed in Finland
  • Korkeakoulutukseen/ ammatilliseen/ lukioon valmentavat koulutukset with Finnish language or S2 as language of instruction

General Eligibility requirements for Bachelor’s degrees

Applicants are eligible to apply to Bachelor degree studies in a university of applied sciences with any of the following:

  • the studies required for graduating from the Finnish upper secondary school or a Matriculation Examination;
  • an International Baccalaureate (IB) degree and/or graduated from IB high school
  • a European Baccalaureate (EB) Diploma;
  • a Reifeprüfung (RP) or Deutsches Internationales Abitur (DIA) degree;
  • a Finnish vocational upper secondary qualification covering 120 credits or 180 competence points or a corresponding earlier Finnish vocational degree covering at least 80 credits;
  • a Finnish post-secondary or higher vocational level diploma;
  • a Finnish vocational upper secondary qualification or a further or specialist vocational qualification as a competence-based qualification, or a comparable previous qualification;
  • a foreign qualification that provides eligibility for higher education studies in the country in question;
  • Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree, postgraduate licentiate and doctoral degrees.

    Applicants must attach their educational certificates and proof of Finnish language skills by uploading them to the application form by the deadline 17th July 2026 15:00. Applicants can alternatively share a link to their study records in Finland from My Studyinfo if available. Only final certificates are considered. Official translations into English, Finnish or Swedish are required If the documents are not issued in English, Finnish or Swedish.

    Results of admission will be announced latest by 21st August. Applicants who are selected for admission will have 7 days to accept the study place offer. Applicants must note that they can accept only one study place in higher education for studies starting in the autumn 2026. Admission is conditional until the applicant’s eligibility to apply to higher education is checked by Laurea Admissions. If the applicant is liable to pay Tuition fees, admission is also conditional until the Laurea Tuition fee has been paid. Laurea may withdraw the admission if the applicant does not fulfill the eligibility criteria or if the applicant has given false information in the application process. Studies will begin 31st August 2026.
