The transformation of working life requires new approaches. Practical Systems Thinking – training model - project develops a model that supports professionals in applying systems thinking in their own work.
Novelty value
In today’s expert work, reductionist and mechanistic solutions are no longer sufficient. At the core of future expertise, and as a prerequisite for renewal, lies on systemic capability. In practice this means the ability to work with phenomena that are complex and interconnected.
So far, the practical application of systems thinking in working life has been narrow and insufficient. The novelty of this project is to make this way of thinking an accessible and applicable tool in Finnish, designed as a modern and practice-oriented training.
Results
The project will produce a training model aimed at helping professionals identify and resolve workplace challenges from a systemic perspective. The model can also be applied in higher education courses to support broader perspective-taking.
The training model will include a modular one-credit study unit, offered free of charge through the open learning portals of Haaga-Helia and Laurea Universities of Applied Sciences.
The model provides facilitation guidelines for team leaders and supervisors to support the practical application of the model.
