NACEMAP aims to improve emergency management and preparedness for climate-change-driven incident response and post-incident recovery of Northern Periphery and Arctic communities. We will address gaps in emergency planning through consultative processes with communities, municipalities, first responders, and other key stakeholders from remote, coastal and island areas. NACEMAP aims to develop and deploy toolkit to enable communities audit their preparedness, prepare response plans, and create post-incident recovery plans.
Project is coordinated by the Munster Technological University from Ireland. Project partners alongside Laurea include Ambipar Response from Ireland, the Association of Municipalities of Northeast Iceland and University of Akureyri from Iceland, and the Finnish National Rescue Association. We work closely together with the associated partners: Clare County Council, Shannon Foynes Port Company, Shannon Estuary Anti-Pollution Team, Subitis Preparedness Consultants, Dalhousie University, the Icelandic Arctic Cooperation Network and the Wellbeing Services County of Lapland.
