Innovative Higher Education in Sustainable Timber Construction

The professional aim is to develop competences of teachers to be used in education of students in the field of sustainable timber construction. Development of competences will be based on sharing of expertise among participants from different countries and universities. New topics will be introduced and new teaching materials, including laboratory assignments specifically created to help assimilate theoretic concepts through hands-on experiments. Laurea's role is to develop student centered innovative pedagogical competences of teachers to be used in education of students in the field of sustainable timber construction. Pedagogical competences will include teaching in online and blended environments using trans-disciplinary project based learning (PBL) and learning by developing.
