The Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) Summer School is based on the famous Finnish holistic and child-oriented education approach, emphasizing hands-on learning, creative and playful methods, and high-quality development work in ECEC. After the training, you will be able to align pedagogical goals with child-oriented practices and incorporate them into everyday tasks.
The training is conducted through on-site teaching at the Tikkurila campus of the Laurea University of Applied Sciences. The campus has excellent train connections from Helsinki, which is the capital of Finland. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes.
The training language is English, supported with AI generated subtitles.
We utilize a digital learning environment to support the training, and we recommend bringing a laptop or tablet for effective participation in the activities.
The minimum number of participants is 20, and the maximum capacity for the training is 40 individuals.

Target audience
The training is designed for early childhood education teachers and daycare center directors working with children aged 0–8. It is also suitable for university and college students, daycare entrepreneurs, educators training early childhood education teachers at colleges and universities, as well as leaders in the field.

Schedule
Monday: 9am–4pm Strengths of Finnish ECEC
Tuesday: 9am–4pm Learning by exploring and playing
Wednesday: 9am–4pm Creative learning methods
Thursday: 9am–4pm Assessing and developing ECEC
Friday: 9am–4pm Reflection of the week and home take away
The training includes a visit to a daycare center and optional evening activities on two nights.
