The project conference by Laurea's Business Administration students in Hyvinkää was a success
The Business Administration students at Laurea's Hyvinkää campus presented their business projects at the event they organized. Key partners and other industry experts critiqued the presentations.
In May, the students and supervisors of Laurea’s Business Administration P2P (Peer to Peer) projects, along with key partner companies and other project partner companies, organized the traditional joint event at the Hyvinkää campus. Laurea’s P2P projects are carried out by student teams in Business Administration under the guidance of Business Administration lecturers. Most of the project assignments come from Laurea’s key partners, with some also coming from other partners. The projects typically span the entire semester, amounting to 15 ECTS credits, and focus on business development.
Theme: Utilizing Artificial Intelligence in Business Development and Projects
The theme of the conference was artificial intelligence, which was explored from various perspectives in business and project-based learning. The keynote speakers were Jari Ahde, Product Manager at MyHomesID, and Tony Savander, Data Scientist at Wärtsilä Finland Oy. Both presentations addressed the use, benefits, and potential of artificial intelligence in business.
The revamped event concept meant that a total of 40 P2P project teams and about 200 students had the opportunity to present their business development projects categorized by themes: marketing, customer-oriented business, service design, digital marketing and sales, as well as HR and accounting. Additionally, Laurea’s key partners and other industry experts critiqued the students’ presentations. All project teams were given the special task of addressing the utilization of artificial intelligence in their presentations.
The Conference-Style Event Received Positive Feedback
200 participants is a record in the history of this semesterly event. The conference received positive feedback from the attendees. The keynote presentations, student team project presentations, critiques from company representatives, and the extensive discussions based on the project contents were particularly praised.
The successful organization of the conference was led by the business administration project team: Sakari Pirhonen (project manager), Elias Leppänen, Jessica Juvonen, Neea Koljonen, Anitta Könönen, Minna Grönberg, and Veeti Trygg.

Students and supervisors work together with industry experts on business development projects, and learning occurs through practical work. There are no lectures or exams.
