​​​​​​​​​​S​eparate applications to Laurea based on Open UAS studies for full-time degree programmes 

A person who has earned a minimum number of study credits in an Open University of Applied Sciences may apply to become a full time student through a separate application process. In order to apply, applicants must meet the eligibility requirements required to apply for a bachelor's or master's degree programme at a University of Applied Sciences (UAS) in Finland. ​For more information on the application process, eligibility requirements ​and time tables, please click on the relevant heading below.

Separate application process based on Open UAS studies for bachelor's degrees​


A person who has earned 60 credits in an open university of applied sciences may apply to become a degree student through a separate application process. Studies completed in any university of applied sciences are eligible, but they must be open UAS studies and part of the degree programme that the person is applying for (e.g. Bachelor's Degree in Health Care).

Laurea bachelor's degree programmes taught in English are not open for application in the autumn 2017 separate application period (1.-15.11.2017). 

The Bachelor's/Master's degree programmes open for separate application will be confirmed by the beginning of each separate application period. The next separate application period will be in May 2018.

 

Separate application process based on Open UAS studies  for Master's degrees

 
A person who has earned a minimum of 15 credits (in core competence studies) in an Open University of Applied Sciences Masters studies may apply to become a degree student through a separate application process.

Applicants must also have eligibility to apply for a master's degree programme at a University of Applied Sciences (UAS). Applicants must have a suitable Bachelor's or Master's degree completed at a University or a University of Applied Sciences and at least three years (36 months) of work experience from the relevant field acquired after the date of graduation on the degree. Work experience must be obtained no later than 31st December 2017 for the autumn 2017 application period.

The next application period for study programmes in spring 2018 is 1st – 15th November, 2017 via www.studyinfo.fi. The application form closes on the last application day at 15:00  All studies must be fulfilled and registered by 31st December 2017.

Please notice,
the Bachelor's/Master's degree programmes open for separate application will be confirmed by the beginning of each separate application period.
 

Applicants must clearly indicate the following information in the application form: the total amount of credits received from Open UAS by 31st December 2017, degree that gives eligibility for the master's programme and work experience declared in months. Applicants who have studied in an Open UAS other than Laurea need to send their Transcript of Records 15th November 2017 15:00 to the Laurea Admission Services. The Transcript of Records from the Open UAS can be sent online by uploading it to the application in Studyinfo.fi. If sending the required attachments online is not possible, the applicant can also send them by post so that the attachments are at Laurea Admission Services by the 15th November 2017 at 15:00:

Studies completed in Laurea Open UAS will be checked from the Student Register so students of Laurea Open UAS do not need to send their attachments.

All eligible applicants who have completed at least 15 credits Open UAS studies will be invited to the interview. The decision on admission is made based on the interview and study performance in path studies. The applicant must have at least 15 credits  worth of master's degree core competence studies that can be integrated into the degree in question from a university of applied sciences. All studies must be fulfilled and registered by 31st December 2017.

The interviews for the master's programmes will be held during week 48. Eligible applicants will receive more information about accurate schedule closer to the interviews. During the interviews the applicant's completed studies in the Open UAS are checked, as well as the applicant's degree from a university of applied sciences or from other higher education institution. Also the amount of work experience is checked from applicant’s work certificates.

The decision on the admissions is made by the Director of Master's Degree Studies at Laurea. The separate application study place decisions will be informed to applicants by Laurea Admissions Services via e-mail by 8th December 2017 at the latest. Applicants must confirm the offered study place latest by 29th December 2017 via www.studyinfo.fi .

Please note, non-EU/EEA area students who have been selected through the Finnish joint application or through Laurea's separate application for admission to degree programmes taught in English starting from 1.8.2017 onwards will be charged tuition fees.
