Degree Programme in Business Information Technology (BBA)
A degree in Business Information Technology prepares students for ICT careers in roles where technology interfaces with other functions of businesses and organizations. Throughout their studies, students develop the necessary knowledge and skills to succeed in today’s dynamic and competitive ICT environment. They acquire a broad understanding of how ICT can impact the success of businesses in various industry sectors.
Graduates will have essential skills in teamwork, communication and project work. Studies are focused in the application of industry practices, standards and technologies in the development of solutions for the service business in general. Laurea employs student-centered teaching models giving the students the possibility to learn in a flexible way via practice-oriented courses, projects with industry partners, work-based learning, and virtual studies.
The degree programme in Business Information Technology (210 ECTS) consists of
core competence (150 ECTS) and complementary competence (60 ECTS) modules.Complementary competence studies are available in Web development, Mobile application development, Cybersecurity technologies, Information security management and Entrepreneurship.
Students can also choose study modules from other Laurea campuses and degree programs (Business Management, Security Management, for example), other universities in the area as well as partner universities abroad.
