If you have personal Finnish Bank user ID you can change forgotton password in https://my.laurea.fi

NOTE! If you get an error message from your BANK www-pages (you are not redirected to mylaurea) it might mean that you don't have an agreement that provides identification (even though you have bankID). If that's the case you must contact your Bank if you want to update your contract. You  can then reset the password from Service Desk or Student Office.

New Student - activate new user account before first study period

You can activate your user account 5 days before your study period starts. Activate your account before first day of school. If you don't have Finnish BankID you can contact Student affairs office.

If you have personal Finnish Bank user ID you can activate your user account in https://my.laurea.fi . If you don't have them read user policy and pick up your user information from student office.

3. Account activation

  • Check that your personal information is correctly
  • Read Laurea`s  IT network and systems usage policy
  • Accept usage policy by marking “I accept the Laurea IT network and systems usage policy” -check box
  • Read password guidelines carefully
  • Write new password and repeat it
  • Click “Activate account” -button

When the activation is complete you will be redirected to your information page.  Remember your user account / student number and test your login by sign in again to MyLaurea.

General information about login

Permission to use the services is granted electronically in accordance to account activation, after the user has accepted these rules.

The user account name is a unique string of characters with which the user is authenticated in the system. The password is a string of characters which is used to ensure that the correct person is using the user account. The user account and password are personal and should not be given to anyone else. Everyone is responsible for any abuse done with his/her own user account.

The staff accounts are valid for the duration of the person's contract. The student accounts on the other hand are valid for the duration of his/her studies. Any abuse can lead to disabling of the account.

1. Log in: Use your web browser and go to the address https://my.laurea.fi/  
 
Tip: If the page is in Finnish by default, you can change it to English by clicking “Switch to English” button below the fields. 

2. Put your credentials in the fields and click “Log in”.

You can always view your personal info by clicking “Show personal info” from the menu on the left. 

3. Changing your password: you can change your personal password by clicking on the “Change password” on the menu. Guidelines to forming a new password can be found on the right-hand side of the page.  
Input your old and new password as guided and click “Change password”.

 4. Log out: after you are finished, be sure to always log out of my.laurea.fi. You can do this by clicking the “Log out” button in the menu.

Q: I get error message from Bank when trying to identify to mylaurea with BankID.

Q: How do I know if my password is about to expire?
A: IT-services will send you a reminder by e-mail when it's time for you to change your password.

Q: How often do I have to change my password?
A: The password has to be changed once every 4 months.

Q: Where can I change my password?
A: You can change your password at https://my.laurea.fi

Q: Can I change my password even if I haven't received a reminder yet?
A: Yes. You can change your password as often as you like.

Q: With which account can I change my password? Do I need a Winha username and password?
A: No, you don't. You can change your password with your personal account at https://my.laurea.fi

Q: What if I don't change my password in time?
A: If the password isn't changed in time, the account will be locked and you can't use it to access Laurea's network or e-mail anymore.

Q: Can I check when the password expires from somewhere?
A: You can check the expiration date at https://my.laurea.fi from the Personal information section.

Q: If the IT administration knows when my password expires, can they also see what my password is?
A: No. The expiration date of the password is checked from a timestamp which is reset when the password is changed. This is done completely by software and the IT-services can't see the users' passwords.

Personnel change password from remote connection

 1. Close all open programs, especially Outlook (email).

 2. Change password in https://my.laurea.fi (displays also expiration date)

3. Change password to all mobile devices (Lumia phone: Settings/email + accounts / Laurea / Password).

4. Lock computer and open it again with new password.

FAQ

 

You can use your account to log in to Laurea`s IT systems.

If you cannot log in, please allow the system about 30 minutes to refresh itself before contacting IT-info.

5. Errors/error messages while activating your account

Error: You have to accept the usage policy in order to activate your account. Solution: Mark the “I accept the Laurea IT network and systems usage policy” -check box

Error: The new password doesn`t contain enough different character classes Solution: Check that the password conforms to the guidelines
