Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Slovak Republic to Finland and Estonia, Mr. Tibor Králik visited Laurea University of Applied Sciences on Friday the 4th of May. The aim of the visit to Laurea Tikkurila campus was to learn about future collaboration opportunities between Laurea and Slovakian universities.
During the visit the ambassador presented Laurea library a gift: “Professor Professor Kassay’s Foundation’s Pentalogy Enterprise and Enterpreneurship” book series. The books will be available for both Laurea staff and students at the Tikkurila campus library.
As an expression of gratitude for the donation the ambassador Tibor Králik was presented an honorary membership of Laurea libraries and own library card.
The ambassador Tibor Králik also presented the audience with a short introduction to Slovakia and the embassy of the Slovak Republic in Finland:
- Slovakia has a strong pro-European orientation which also determines relationships between Slovakia and Finland, the ambassador Králik stated.
- Our embassy has for example initiated a high level round table discussion to build economic foresight, encouraged transfer of knowledge in education and participated in creative technologies and smart tech collaboration, he continued.
As a small glimpse to the Laurea UAS way of learning the ambassador Králik was also given a small presentation by two Laurea business management students Hilla Pennanen and Valtti Mustajärvi. They presented how Laurea students can bridge the gap between theory and real life market needs by executing authentic assignments with organizations.
The ambassador’s visit to Laurea ended with a lunch meeting with Laurea presentatives, including president, CEO, Mr. Jouni Koski. The ambassador Tibor Králik also presented Laurea UAS and director Tuija Hirvikoski with a Commemorative Medal by Professor Stefan Kassay Foundation for Science and Education in recognition of excellent co-operation.
