Laurea received over 20,000 applications in the joint application round of the spring


​This spring's joint application round to education programmes taught through Finnish at higher education institutions ended on Wednesday 5 April. Preliminary indications are that Laurea University of Applied Sciences received over 20,000 applications in total in this round. The most popular choices were the Business Management programme starting in autumn 2017 that will for the first time be fully implemented as online studies, as well as the new Bachelor of Social Sciences programme to be launched on Lohja campus.

Preliminary indications are that Laurea University of Applied Sciences received over 20,000 applications in total in the joint application round of the spring. More than 5,700 applicants had selected Laurea as their first choice.

In the spring round, Laurea offered a total of 850 starting places in ten programmes leading to a Bachelor’s degree and four Master’s degree programmes. According to an initial estimate, the attraction of all programmes at Laurea was approximately 6.7 applicants per starting place in total.

Measured by the number of first-choice applicants, the most attractive education programme at Laurea was the Business Management programme starting in autumn 2017 that will, for the first time, be fully implemented as online studies. It drew some 20 first-choice applicants per starting place. The new Bachelor of Social Sciences programme to be launched on Lohja campus attracted an almost equal number of first-choice applicants.
