International students, alumni and different company representatives gathered  for the International Speed Networking event that was held at Leppävaara campus 9th of November.

Laurea Alumni Relations Coordinator, Joonas Joutsen and International Planning Officer, Milton Aldrete opened the event by welcoming everyone and introducing the programme of the day for the participants. During the opening, Laurea Senior Lecturer, Ilona Rönkä presented the International Graduates to Work Life! project, which is co-operated by Laurea, Arcada, Metropolia, Diak and Haaga-Helia Universities of Applied Sciences. Future is Built on Experences

Main speaker for the event, Laurea alumna of the year 2016, entrepreneur and professional speaker Marjo Rantanen energized the room by speaking about the importance of attitude and feelings with the topic The Future Is Built On Experiences. Marjo highlighted that you don't always remember individuals by their name or appearence but you will always remember how they made you feel at the moment.

International Networking

After Marjo's opening speech the participants were split to two groups: alumni and 1st year students and company representatives and 2nd, 3rd, 4th year students. Each student had the time to discuss different subjects with the alumni and company representatives. Alumni and company representatives hosted their own tables and the students toured around the tables with a specified time limit.

Company representatives included Sector Alarm, eWork Group Finland, HMSHost Finland, The Union of Sales and Marketing Professionals, Adecco Finland, Laurea University of Applied Sciences and Varia.

Laurea Alumna Anna Grinberg was one of the participants, she had a clear opinion about the event. "It was my pleasure to participate in the International Speed Networking event at my old university Laurea today. I appreciate a lot how my alma mater gives the alumnis the possibility to share their knowledge and experience with students and stay in touch this way."
