Laurea starts Friendship Family Programme

Are you interested in showing your culture to Laurea's international students? Many of our students are from thousand miles away, they might come from the other side of the world, and have come here to study at Laurea. Wouldn't it be wonderful to learn about each other's' cultures through common activities?

Come and join our Friendship Family Programme!

The mission of the friendship family programme is to allow international students a chance to get an authentic Finnish culture experience and to see what it's like in the homes of regular Finnish folk. And at the same time allowing the families to get a glimpse into the culture the students themselves come from and allowing them to broaden their horizons.

How does it work?

Laurea's International Office finds families who volunteer for the programme as well as students interested in taking part in this experience and then join both together as friendship family groups. It is then up to the student and the family to decide how often they meet and how they will spend their time together.

Laurea will organize an info session on the 1st of June where existing families and students of our programme will share with you their experiences as a participants in Friendship Family Programme, please feel free to join us.

How to apply?

Please consider carefully whether you can devote time for this activity, you should be prepared to meet your international students regularly.
