Thank you for participating to the national UAS library user survey

The survey was conducted between 9.3. – 15.4.2020. Laurea Library received 492 responses. Thanks to all respondents!

The lucky winner of the main prize (Oura-ring), which was drawn among all respondents, was form Savonia UAS. Laurea Library drew three other prizes among Laurea respondents. The winners have been informed.

The survey results show the following:

The strengths of Laurea Library are: location of campus libraries and how the provided material supports studies and working. As a whole, library services serve the customers’ needs well. Open ended questions include several references to the kindness and helpfulness from library staff. The average value for Laurea Library services is 8.6/10. The question about recommending Laurea Library to others is rated 9.5/10.

The survey had questions about developing library services. The respondents felt that: the availability of e-resources as well as printed material could be better; finding information about services can be difficult; the library should offer more guidance on how to search for information. In addition, the respondents wished that the library facilities would be improved.

We will take into account these suggestions when we develop our services to meet the customers’ needs better.

• We have already acquired a large amount of electronic materials during this spring, and simultaneously actively gathered suggestions for new materials from our customers. • Guidelines on how to use materials provided by the library and finding information about library services are improved. We are paying special attention to this in the context of the Laurea-level intranet reform project.
• The development of library facilities will be promoted together with the facilities administration.

Received development suggestions are taken into account in our operations:

-         We have already acquired a large amount of electronic materials during this spring. Proposals for material acquisition are actively collected from customers and cooperation with lecturers has been increased. -         Guidelines for the use of materials and the discoverability of services are being further developed. Special attention will be paid to these factors in the context of the Laurea-level intranet reform project.
